Kamel Tanning love story with sheepskin rugs is old in the making. We are delighted to bring a touch of luxury and beauty to our customers’ spaces. These rugs undergo a vigorous process to eliminate the animal fat and other smells from the sheepskins. They are tanned and retained, shaved, toggled, and air-dried. Most importantly, they are machine degreased and dry cleaned with tetrachloroethylene

A sheepskin rug is inherently resilient. It will never lose its beautiful shape. Each sheepskin wool fiber is made from millions of minute coiled fibers that stretch rather than break. Sheepskin wool is naturally resistant to stains, soil, and flame. A thin protective membrane covers the surface of a wool fiber, which gives wool the ability to shed water and water based stains. The fiber’s high moisture content combined with the wool’s protein constituents, renders sheepskin rugs flame resistant. Charring marks from a meandering fireplace cinder or a misplaced cigarette can be simply brushed away.

Add a touch of glamour with a genuine 100% sheepskin rug to your floor, your favorite armchair, drape it on your bed for a touch of warmth in the winter, or anywhere you desire a cozy comforting snuggle.

These rugs are available in assorted range of colors and budgets. Popular as floor rugs, seat coverings, bed underlays, decorative use, hallways and passageways, and recreational.

Care instructions
  • Vacuum can be use to clear a sheepskin rug, but we recommend a non-upright vacuum. Sheepskin wool is inherently resistant to soil and dirt. This is due to its structure of overlapping scales that keep dust and dirt near the surface of the pile; hence it can be easily released by vacuuming.
  • Hand wash a sheepskin rug with cold water and Woolite®, or another specialized wool cleaner.
  • You may spin to remove excess water. Do not tumble dry.
  • Dry your sheepskin rug flat or on a line and Stretch to shape while damp.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and artificial heat. Do not place the sheepskin rug on a radiator, steam pipe or in front of a fan heater as this may cause damage.
  • Do not iron or bleach the sheepskin.
  • To restore the wool’s fluffy appearance after washing, brush the curls when wet with a wire brush or comb. Repeat the process when dry.
Storage

A sheepskin rug should be stored in a cool airy place with no direct sunlight. Avoid packing it in plastic bags for an extended period of time since it will prevent the sheepskin’s fibers from breathing. Warm storage condition will cause condensation.
